Bambuser server update

Tonight the back-end system got a upgrade as well.

This can bring some trouble during the night to get your streams running properly, but bare with us cause this is some of the features it will result in.

- The server is now running on port 80, which should make it available for all of you with tragic firewalls. This is especially a request from Jonas who has been missing out on all the live material at his office at Dell. So big corp. users congrats.

- All the old material that was recorded through our java-player has now been updated and are now possible to be enjoyed in the same matter as all other flash videos :)

- There is a lot more engineering stuff under neath, but that is not for us deadly to bother about :)

So a standing ovation for Tom, and thank the weather gods for bringing some rain over the Swedish mountains, and lets hope it will be in the form of snow tomorrow so he gets some of his skiing done, and some great live material from the pist.

Bambuser App Update

The Bambuser Application got today some magic updates(great with christmas holidays when you have time to do things you want :).

The new feature enables auto-connection which means that you with one touch can start streaming, this means that we have more than halfed the time it takes for you to start a stream, which now is around 6 seconds from my N82 phone.

Download the new update at
- m.bambuser.com (from your phone)
- alpha.bambuser.com/start (from your computer)

(And yes, what you see up there at the top on the photo "send position" is something that is coming to you all soon enough :)

BambuserNotifications

Yesterday Tom enabled two notification opportunities for the Bambuser platform. This gives you the opportunity to get your message out to your friends when you go live. If you already have a Jaiku or Twitter account you just have to fill them out in your profile, under notification options. The Bambuser platform will from there on post a notification that says "Live on Bambuser:" and followed by your tag as well as with the link to your stream.

Please try it out.

BambuserBrains

To summarize this week we can say that the gravitational forces around Bambuser is still there. This week we been penetrated by two of the most extreme polarized uses of the service, one we had forecasted, another that we did not predict at all.

Also Tom had a visit to BambuserHus in Malmö where we met a delegation from Sony Ericsson and their product planning department. Friday was spent in Copenhagen on duty for a semi-secret mission, lets just say that it involved countries like Burma, Zimbabwe and Syria.
Saturday was spent in two beam bags focusing on all different topics concerning a web-strategy. Conclusion there so many possibilities and so few people on this project so far, so I´ll just end this post with a question...

Anyone out there want to help?

Bambuser day of Fun

Once again it feels just fantastic to be a Bambuser! Another beautiful day in our Capital, with two great meetings. One of them with serial entrepreneur and super capitalist Johan SvH. Lots of energy. Lots of fun. The other meeting should probably be kept a secret... :-) Truly exciting stuff in the horizon though. It’s really hard not getting excited about everything that happens and some people keep telling us not to be too happy... maybe things are going to get a lot harder soon... well hey! Probably they are... so many more reasons to enjoy!

Meeting with iQube

During several weeks now iQube have been on the hunt for becoming the incubator host of Bambuser. Though we more or less turned them down several times they have continued paying interest in us, which we of course appriciate. Tomorrow they are bringing out their final catch, when we are meeting their CEO Johan Stael von Holstein in Stockholm. Still a bit concerned with their actual capacity and competence we are very pleased and flattered by their interest... Hope to come out of a good session tomorrow.

BambuserFashion

This Friday evening Bambuser tried out the latest fashion in the Bambuser Universe. Several different styles were presented but only one made it to the cut. You who think this looks like a Justin.tv rip off have to realize that sure visually it looks quite alike but one major thing is differing, there no computers hidden in a backpack here...

Bambuser on a SE W960i for the first time...

Ulf Attevik from Sony Ericsson´s London office let me borrow his W960 to try our UIQ app on it. It works great, however the UIQ platform still seems to have troubles finding the right connection point. But connected to a WLAN it runs smooth...

If anyone have anything to comment on this feel free.

Internet Explorer for windows users!

For your interest we are experiencing some problems with Internet Explorer users, you can download FireFox, that should solve the problem within the windows platform. We are working on the Internet Explorer problem and hope to have it solved as quick as possible...

Thanks for your patience...

Jonny moves in...

...to the blog! Feels nice to be able to write about all the stuff we´re experiencing right now. Yesterday was fun, doing some guerilla marketing and meeting up with Matthew from Venrock. Let´s just say, there is quite a contrast between the Bambuser-way of spending your days, and the Dell-way. We´re really getting things going now and I´m more and more proud to be a part of this stuff. I got my colleague to start using Bamb today! Well...due to some interface problems with his P1 we didn´t get connected, but we´ll fix that...

Meeting with Qbrick

Just arrived to "FriHamnen" in Sthlm, meeting with Qbrick in Stockholm. Hope to get some server capacity from them...

Bild023, originally uploaded by Månster.

Before our meeting today with a VC company from San Francisco me and Jonas set up a little guerilla marketing trick in a high-end computer store at "stureplan" in Stockholm. Running the new webcam feature on one screen and the projection on the other, made a lot of people curious. But hiding safari in the dock for over an hour took it to a whole new level, getting sale pitch after sale pitch. Several kilometers away...

Bambuser now in flash

Bambuser made a revolutionary breakthrough today in getting server compatible with flash. This leaves us (correct me if I am wrong) first in the world with a streaming solution from mobile phone to web and flash... Fantastic work Martin and Tom...

Bambuser Moving to Alpha

Today Bambuser was released as a alpha testing platform which enabled live video streaming from your mobile phone on to the web. The solution has a 7 second delay at the moment, but this will slowly fall to a matter of seconds. So my friends step in and register and try it out for yourself.
